Get ready for an unforgettable culinary adventure as Chen and Alon Koren, founders of "Box from Jerusalem," bring the flavors of Israel's iconic Machne Yehuda Market (aka the Shuk) to NYC!
Adults and families alike are invited to roll up their sleeves and create Israeli classics like Malabi, stuffed grape leaves, and more. Plus, enjoy a taste of the Shuk with vibrant flavors and stories that will transport you straight to Jerusalem. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind celebration of Independence, food, culture, and community!
Ansche Chesed will have our own tables at the workshop. Please sign up below to sit with our group.
Cost: $40 for adults (above 16), $20 for children (ages 6-16), or $100 for a family of four.
Chen, an Orthodox Jerusalemite, and Alon, a secular Israeli from a kibbutz in the Gaza Envelope, are a true reflection of Israel today, blending tradition, diversity, and creativity. Known for their participation in the Israeli version of Bake Off, the Korens will host the biggest live workshop of Israeli cooking in NYC at the JCC.
This event is hosted by the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan in partnership with Ansche Chesed, Israeli House, YAMIM, Congregation Rodeph Sholom, UWS Shlichut, UJA Federation New York, and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
