Please join us for a Selichot evening program that will stimulate your mind and your soul, and help you get ready for the season of Teshuva, or “repentance.”
Rosh HaShanah is called Yom HaDin, the “day of judgment,” when Jews stand before God, the “judge of all the world.” Join three thoughtful Jews who serve as judges in their day jobs – the Hon. Seth Marnin of the New York Court of Claims, and the Hon. Ralph Wolf, of NYC criminal court, both AC members, and the Hon. Pamela Scheininger, of NYC family court – to reflect on religious metaphors of judgment, mercy, equity and guilt.
Following the panel, at about 9:45pm, please join us for the beautiful and moving penitential prayers. Hazzan Natasha J. Hirschhorn and special musical guests, Mike Cohen on woodwinds and Ronen Itzik on percussion, will help us implore God to לשמוע אל הרינה ואל התפילה , “hear our prayer and praise.”
RSVP below, walk-ins welcome.
