On the last Friday of June we will welcome Shabbat with the help of The Mike Cohen Jazz Trio: Mike Cohen, woodwinds, Brian Gelfand, keyboard, and Ronen Itzik, percussion. As we watch the sun set over the city roofs (weather permitting), we’ll enjoy a special night of musical adventures fun, and friendship with beautiful music, wine, and great food!

6pm: The band will start playing, with wine and hors d'oeuvres at hand
6:30pm: Kabbalat Shabbat with Hazzan Hirschhorn and the band, followed by traditional Maariv service
7:45pm: Dinner for pre-registered guests

After the dinner, we will have an opportunity to learn about connections between Jazz and Jewish music with AC member Sid Gribetz, who has been a mainstay of New York’s jazz radio scene for over 30 years. With a musical expertise that ranges in a broad spectrum from swing to modern jazz, he can be heard as a host of WKCR’s popular Sunday afternoon Jazz Profiles program, as well as other special broadcasts.
