ICE Visit and Stay Delivery for Local Sanctuary Family

Thursday, August 23, 2018 • 12 Elul 5778

9:30 AM - 11:00 AM26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY

Our neighbors, the Church of Saint Paul and Saint Andrew have taken in a sanctuary family to help keep them from being deported. In order to continue to support their important work, they have asked our community to go together to the ICE Offices at 26 Federal Plaza to deliver a request for a stay.

Twice a week, a group of 6-15 folks will go to 26 Federal Plaza to file a Stay of Deportation on behalf of our friend. It is part of the New Sanctuary Coalition strategy to widen Debora's community in visible ways to the ICE authorities and beyond and to keep pressure on the system that has discretion to grant her a Stay.

We will meet a member of the New Sanctuary Coalition at the Dunkin Donuts at 321 Broadway, across the street from the ICE Building. The NSC member will have all the necessary documents that you will need. Meet promptly at 9:30am. You will get a brief orientation on process, tone, and purpose, and offer up a word of prayer. Then together, you'll go to 26 Federal Plaza.

If you are a clergy member, please wear your religious attire. This will take an hour and a half to twohours in total. Wear your Sanctuary button. Be prepared to go through metal detectors, taking off shoes, belts, watches, buttons, and taking out the things in your pockets.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
