Community Shabbat Dinner in YOUR Home

Friday, March 19, 2021 6 Nisan 5781

6:15 PM - 9:00 PM

Of the many things that we miss since the onset of the pandemic has been Ansche Chesed Shabbat Dinners. They have always been an opportunity to pray together, to celebrate Shabbat together, to eat together, to learn together… to be together.

While we still can not come together in person, we can still enjoy Shabbat as a community. We invite you to join us for an instrumental Kabbalat Shabbat beginning at 6:15pm, and Maariv beginning at 6:40pm, have a shared catered dinner in our own homes prepared by our own Bruce Soffer of Chef’s Table (which you will pick up from Ansche Chesed on Friday, between 4 and 5:30pm).

After dinner, Hazzan Hirschhorn will lead us in Shabbat Zemirot singing, and Rabbi Hammerman will help us get ready for Pesach, in an interactive program about "Schmutz, Schmaltz and Schlivovitz" (try saying that 3 times fast!).

Our menu for the evening will include a vegetable bareka, challah roll, chicken, rice, a vegetable, and dessert. Vegetable stuffed butternut squash will be available as a vegetarian option.

We hope you will join us in creating a new Shabbat experience filled with song, prayer, wonderful food and community.

Please note that all meal orders needed to be in by Tuesday, March 16th as Bruce needs time to order and prepare these meals. At this point, we invite you to join us for Kabbalat Shabbat and the program after dinner, but you will need to provide your own meal.
